At the University of Connecticut, I taught ARE 3215, Business Management. This undergraduate course covered analysis of marketing, management, and financial decision-making tools with a focus on sustainable agribusiness. To understand these topics, we used microeconomic principles to characterize the unique problems of agribusiness. Students evaluated the sustainability of real firms engaged in agribusiness and develop business plans for Connecticut businesses involved in food or agriculture. In addition to lessons from the textbook, we read and evaluated articles on modern agriculture and the sustainability of agriculture.
